In May 2017, Benetton obtained the Responsible Down Standard (RDS) certification, a protocol that
guarantees that the feathers and down used in our collections come from geese and ducks raised for food, in
compliance with the principles and criteria of animal welfare.

Through the evaluation of neutral and specialized bodies, RDS independently verifies all aspects concerning the
breeding and care of animals, including the traceability of feathers and down from origin to the final product.

In addition, a portion of the duck and goose feathers in our United Colors of Benetton collections are
regenerated. After being recovered from different products - such as duvets, pillows, furnishing comforters, etc. -
they are washed, sterilized, selected and mixed to obtain the right compromise between lightness and heat
retention capacity. This process is rigorously controlled and certified.
